Implementation field guide

Rental ERP Implementation Checklist for Indian Equipment-Rental Companies

Move from spreadsheets or disconnected systems into one controlled rental operating model. This checklist covers inventory readiness, active commitments, role ownership, India-specific commercial boundaries and a complete pilot before cutover.

Three principles before configuration begins

01

Process before configuration

Map how a Production moves from enquiry through quotation, commitment, preparation, custody, return and close before translating it into system states.

02

Current evidence before volume

Prioritize clean equipment identity, active demand, custody and unresolved exceptions. Historical volume is less useful than a defensible opening position.

03

Complete lifecycle before rollout

Pilot one representative Production through ordinary work and exceptions. Do not approve go-live from catalogue import or quotation entry alone.

What implementation readiness should prove

The team should be able to explain what can be promised, what is merely tentative, who holds each asset, whether returned equipment is ready, which supplier obligations remain open and which decisions require Finance or qualified statutory review. Go-live is a controlled business decision, not the date software setup finishes.
